Crypto card without a bank account.

Four cards serve users who don't have or don't want a traditional bank account. They differ on how you load them (cash, crypto, or both) and on how much you can spend at each KYC tier. For new residents, contracts-between freelancers, or anyone with limited bank access, these are the realistic picks.

Why "no bank" is a real category

Banking access is uneven. A Spanish citizen has it easy; an Italian who just moved to Portugal will wait weeks for an account; an Argentinian or Nigerian freelancer may struggle to get an international payment account at all. For these users, a card that works on crypto rails (or accepts cash top-up) is not a niche product. It is the only product.

The four cards below approach the no-bank problem differently:

Bitsa: the only cash-friendly card

Bitsa is Spanish-origin and uniquely supports cash top-up at partner corner shops in Spain, Portugal, and parts of the EU. You walk in, hand over euros, get a top-up code, credit your card. No bank needed. KYC tiers from minimal to full determine the limits.

Catch: low limits, moderate fees (1.5% conversion + 1.5% FX), no rewards. This is a tool for accessibility, not optimisation.

RedotPay: crypto-funded, full limits

RedotPay requires full KYC but never asks for a bank connection. You fund the card with crypto (BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, plus others). $100k per-transaction limit, broadest country coverage. The right pick for a no-bank user with crypto holdings.

MetaMask Card: self-custody, no bank ever

MetaMask Card draws from your MetaMask wallet. You never link a bank; you just need USDC in your wallet at point of spend. KYC at the card layer is required (~20 minutes), but funding is entirely on-chain. Full review.

COCA: non-custodial wallet with a card on top

COCA is the non-custodial wallet version. Seed phrase, your keys. Card draws from your COCA wallet. Country coverage is narrower than MetaMask Card and the product is smaller, but the no-bank workflow is real.

FAQ

Can I get a crypto card without a bank account? +

Yes. Several cards in our coverage do not require a traditional bank account. Bitsa is the only card built specifically for this use case (cash top-up at corner shops, KYC tiers from minimal to full). RedotPay accepts crypto top-up exclusively; you never need to link a bank. MetaMask Card draws from a non-custodial wallet you fund however you choose.

Who is a no-bank crypto card right for? +

New residents who can't yet open a local bank account, freelancers between contracts, anyone with restricted banking access, and users who simply prefer to keep crypto-spend and traditional banking separate. Also useful for users in regions where local banks are slow or expensive (parts of LATAM, Africa, SEA).

How do I top up a crypto card without a bank? +

Three paths: (1) Receive crypto from another wallet or exchange via on-chain transfer. (2) Buy crypto over-the-counter (P2P, cash exchanges in many cities). (3) For Bitsa specifically, walk into a participating corner shop in Spain or Portugal and buy a top-up code with cash.

What are the limits without a bank? +

Bitsa with minimal KYC has very low limits (small daily caps, typically under €500). Full KYC raises limits but requires ID + address. RedotPay and MetaMask Card require full KYC at signup but don't require a bank link; their limits are full ($100k per-tx for RedotPay, $5k for MetaMask).
