About
One operator. No agency. No press kits.
I'm Marco, Italian-born, full-time nomad since 2020. comparecryptopay is the site I wished existed when I was choosing a crypto card. Every review here is from a card I've personally opened, topped up, and used in the wild.
How we test
Every card on this site goes through the same protocol. We're slow, but we're accurate.
- Open the account. Real KYC, real ID, real address. We screenshot every step.
- Top up. A live transfer in BTC, ETH, USDC, and USDT, whichever the card supports, to surface the deposit fees and confirmation times.
- Spend in the wild. A point-of-sale purchase, an online purchase, an ATM withdrawal, and a cross-currency transaction. Same baseline for every card.
- Verify the statement. Every fee number on the card profile pages is checked against my actual statement, not a marketing page.
- Re-test quarterly. Crypto-card terms change frequently. Every review is re-verified at least once a quarter; the date at the top of the page tells you when.
How this site is funded
comparecryptopay is funded by affiliate commissions. When you click an outbound link to a card issuer and subsequently sign up, the issuer pays us a referral fee. You pay nothing extra. This is the standard model used across the financial publishing industry.
What is not standard, and what we work hard to keep that way, is the wall between commission and editorial. Rankings are determined by hands-on testing scored against our published methodology. Commission rates have no bearing on what we recommend or how we order our coverage. A card with worse affiliate terms ranks above one with better terms if our testing says so. Cards without any affiliate programme (Gnosis Pay, some self-custody products) still appear in our coverage when they are editorially relevant.
Every page with affiliate links carries a disclosure banner at the top. Outbound
commission-bearing links use rel="sponsored" per Google's recommendation.
See the full affiliate disclosure & editorial policy for
the complete mechanics, conflicts-of-interest policy, and what we will and will not
do.
What this site is not
- Financial advice, nothing here is.
- Legal advice on whether you can use a card in your jurisdiction.
- An exhaustive list of every crypto card. We only review cards we've used.
- A neutral aggregator. We have opinions, and we publish them.
