Who it's for

Gnosis Pay is for users who treat self-custody as a non-negotiable, not a preference. The whole product is built around one architectural decision: your Gnosis Safe is the card account. There is no custodian, no segregated user-fund pool, no off-chain ledger entry. Every spend is an on-chain Safe transaction. The audience is small but committed, long-time Safe users, Gnosis Chain natives, and anyone who has internalised "not your keys, not your coins" to the point of refusing to compromise on it.

How it works

You create a Gnosis Safe (a smart-contract wallet on Gnosis Chain), fund it with EURe or GBPe (Monerium's MiCA-licensed stablecoins), and bind a Visa card to that Safe address. When you spend, the card debits the Safe via an on-chain transaction; Monerium handles the fiat settlement on the merchant side. The card has its own spending module installed in the Safe to authorise day-to-day transactions without requiring a full multi-sig confirmation for every coffee.

Rewards (4% in GNO) are paid via a vault-deposit mechanism on Gnosis Chain. You can opt in and stake GNO to receive cashback on spend.

In daily use

The onboarding takes longer than a custodial card and assumes you know what a Safe is. You'll connect a wallet, sign Safe setup transactions, fund the Safe, and complete KYC at the card layer. Once set up, daily use is similar to any other card, spend with the Visa, see the transaction reflected on-chain in your Safe.

The 0% conversion and 0% FX fees are real. There is no spread because there is no conversion in the custodial sense, you're spending EURe (a euro stablecoin issued by Monerium) directly. The trade-off is that you need to keep EURe in the Safe, which requires understanding Monerium's redemption model and the difference between EURe and other euro stablecoins.

Things to know before signing up

Low limits. Per-tx is $1,500 and daily is $5,000. This is not a card for property deposits or large invoices; it's for everyday and travel spend. EU only. The Monerium stablecoin and the EU-licensed card issuer mean non-EU users are blocked. Requires Safe and DeFi fluency. If you've never used a Safe, set one up for a smaller use case first and get comfortable before you trust it with your card account. No affiliate program. Unlike most cards in our coverage, Gnosis Pay doesn't have a partner programme. We cover it anyway because the product is unique and the editorial line is to recommend the best card for the user, regardless of payout.

Verdict

Gnosis Pay is the most ideologically pure card on the site. If you value self-custody at the level where any custodial intermediate is unacceptable, this is the answer, there is no closer product on the market in 2026. Limits and EU-only restrictions mean it's rarely a single-card solution; pair it with RedotPay or Crypto.com for higher-ticket spend, and use Gnosis Pay for everyday transactions where the on-chain custody model matters most.
